The Roadrunner Review

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

The Roadrunner Review is an online literary journal produced by students at La Sierra University, a Seventh-day Adventist institution. We want to create a beautiful literary space for students attending college or university, and we welcome submissions from around the world. We are interested in work that plunges us into a moment and unravels larger truths. We like to be surprised with language, and we find that wonder can come when ordinary moments are carefully observed. Because the world is a busy place, we aim to give readers short, vivid reading experiences.

We invite students, both undergraduates and graduates, to submit cover art, poetry, flash fiction and flash nonfiction. Maximum words: 1000.

We ask that all submitted work be previously unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are welcome as long as you inform us if your work is accepted elsewhere. Please note in your cover letter where you attend school.

*If you are a high school student, we invite you to submit to our high school writing competition. The submission window for the contest will open March 2022.*
